CLINICAL REVIEWERS
Our clinical review process, honestly explained
We think you deserve to know exactly who — if anyone — has clinically reviewed the article you’re reading. Here’s precisely how that works right now.
Where we are right now
Anonymous Psychologist is newly launched, and we are actively recruiting our first clinical reviewers. Until a specific article has been reviewed by a named, licensed clinician, its byline reads “Clinical review: pending,” not a borrowed or generic credential. We’d rather tell you the truth than look more authoritative than we are.
What clinical review means here
When an article has been reviewed, a licensed mental health professional — a psychologist, psychiatrist, LCSW, LMFT, or LPC, depending on the topic — has read it in full, checked it against current clinical guidelines and their own professional expertise, and either approved it or required changes before it could carry their name. The byline will show their name, credentials, and the date of review, linked to a bio page describing their license and background.
What “pending” means
It means exactly what it says: a licensed clinician has not yet reviewed that specific article. It does not mean the content is unsourced — our writers work from DSM-5-TR criteria and established clinical guidelines, described in full on our Editorial Policy page — but it hasn’t yet had a clinician’s sign-off. We prioritize clinical review for content on diagnosable conditions, symptoms, and treatment first.
Are you a licensed clinician?
We’re looking for licensed psychologists, psychiatrists, LCSWs, LMFTs, and LPCs to join as clinical reviewers. Reviewers are credited by name on every article they review, with a linked bio page describing their license, specialty, and background. If you’re interested, reach out via our Contact page with your license type, state, and license or NPI number.
Current reviewer roster
We don’t have any clinical reviewers onboarded yet. This section will list each reviewer’s name, license, specialty, and a link to their bio page as soon as our first reviewers join — and every article they’ve reviewed will be updated to credit them by name.
